Social Media Profile Photo
I knew I wanted something that had high contrast and dark shadows, because I haven't really shot anything like that yet outside of school.
I invited Michael over to take the photo, he was the subject of a previous post here.
I decided I was going to try something that would cause dramatic shadows so I put a cheap home depot Scoop Light directly above my head.
This photo was taken on a Nikon D5100 with a 35mm F/1.8 lens shot at F/2.8 ISO100 and shutter speed of 1/100
Once I found the right spot to stand under I added an edge light to help separate some of me from the background.

It never gets tiring experimenting with different lighting styles. I would encourage anyone interested in filmmaking to worry about learning as many lighting tricks as they can.
That will add more value to your work than a new camera will.
